Em\u00a0<strong>2002, Arjen Y. Hoekstra<\/strong>\u00a0criou o conceito de pegada h\u00eddrica que pode ser definida como a \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel necess\u00e1ria para produzir um alimento ou outro produto. Este conceito tem o objetivo de promover o uso racional da \u00e1gua. Recurso cada vez mais escasso devido \u00e0s altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas, polui\u00e7\u00e3o e ao crescimento populacional.<\/p><p><strong>Desperdi\u00e7ar alimentos tamb\u00e9m significa desperdi\u00e7ar \u00e1gua!<\/strong><\/p><p>Segundo a\u00a0<strong>FAO\u00a0<\/strong>(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/3\/i3347e\/i3347e.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.fao.org\/3\/i3347e\/i3347e.pdf<\/a>), todos os anos gastamos 250 km<sup>3<\/sup>\u00a0de \u00e1gua a produzir alimentos que s\u00e3o posteriormente desperdi\u00e7ados. Este valor de pegada h\u00eddrica do desperd\u00edcio alimentar \u00e9 superior a qualquer outro pa\u00eds.<\/p><p>A \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel \u00e9 um bem limitado e cada vez mais escasso. Reduzir o desperd\u00edcio alimentar \u00e9 reduzir o gasto desnecess\u00e1rio de \u00e1gua. Contribua para um futuro mais sustent\u00e1vel!
